Jury of Autocontrol
With the aim of guaranteeing a truthful, legal, honest and loyal publicity, the main advertisers, agencies and communication media created in 1995 AutoControl(*), a non-profit organisation that manages the Spanish advertising self-regulation system.
Farmaindustria, under the terms specified in the relevant agreement, transfers control of compliance and interpretation of the Code of Practice for the Pharmaceutical Industry to the Jury of the Association for Self-Regulation of Commercial Communications, which is governed by its own rules of procedure.
The resolutions of the Jury are notified immediately to the parties involved for their compliance. At the same time, the Jury notifies the decisions to the Code of Practice Committee, who, in turn, refers them to the Governing Bodies of Farmaindustria for their due execution and, if appropriate, to proceed to the collection of the monetary sanctions imposed by the Jury.
(*) Autocontrol is the only Spanish private organism that has been recognised by the European Commission, as it observes the requisites and principles of independence, transparency, contradiction, efficacy, lawfulness, freedom of choice and consumer's representation rights, established in the Recommendation 98/257/CE. Autocontrol was incorporated in the year 2000 to the EEJ-Net (European Extra-Judicial Network) of the Commission. For further information consult the website of AutoControl.
